Redi PediCab Company Now Offering Pedicab Service at the Orange County Convention Center

Orlando, FL— XXX. XX, 2009 – The Redi PediCab Company is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the permits to offer pedicab rides at the Orange County Convention Center on International Drive in Orlando. Redi PediCabs are bicycle-pulled rickshaws (a.k.a. bike taxis), or “those bicycles that carry people.” The vehicles provide a forum for outdoor billboards, fun, friendly rides and affordable, Eco-friendly transportation.

The Orange County Convention Center is the second largest convention facility in the United States. It hosts more than 300 events and approximately 1.4 million attendees each year, providing more than a $1.4 billion annual boost to the Central Florida economy. For the past several years, Redi PediCabs have typically been seen along International Drive, from the Convention Center, past the hotels, to Pointe Orlando and everywhere in between.

“We can now offer a unique form of transportation to convention attendees. Instead of leaving the convention center by riding a taxi or bus to get to a hotel, restaurant or their next meeting, people can now enjoy the Florida weather by taking an Eco-friendly pedicab to their next destination. It’s fun, relaxing, amusing, and we do not get stuck in traffic,” stated Catherine Ojeda, Owner of the Redi PediCab Company.

Redi PediCab does not charge for the service it provides. Drivers work for gratuity, and are not paid an hourly wage or a salary. They typically receive $5 to $20 per ride, and gratuity is based on the driver’s service and the distance of the ride.
